That’s right… Patricia and Kevin are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this week! I’m celebrating them by sharing this highlight reel from their recent portrait session. Celebrate with me!
A few months ago their daughter reached out to me about their Anniversary party and told me all about their plans – and let me know that they wanted to have portraits taken ahead of time to decorate the venue with. What an incredible idea!! It actually reminded me of an event I photographed a few years ago where they decorated with photos. Here’s the blog post: Surprise Party at Salt Creek Grille
Decorating an event with photos is just SO ME + an idea I’m absolutely in love with, so this Anniversary Session got me so excited! Unfortunately I am unable to photograph the event but I was very happy to help out with the portraits. We decided we would re-create some photos and were going to meet at the church and the park in which they took bridal portraits in. Not all of the photos needed to be re-created, but using the same locations brought back great memories for them and was a great homage to where their legacy and family began.
Here are the re-created portraits we made:
We started at the church they married in, The Church of the Visitation in Brick, NJ
Then we drove over to Devine Park in Spring Lake, NJ where they took their bridal portraits
What I love so much about the above photo is how much the trees have grown in 50 years! The little saplings in the back have grown in nice and tall, and that big tree in the front – WOW! Unrecognizable! These photos are a testament of time and their love. (You’ll see these trees again below and can see the size difference a little better.)
