Calling myself a “traveling newborn photographer” took on a whole new meaning recently, as I travelled through the DC traffic to Manassas, Virginia! My car was overflowing with my newborn studio equipment, and the excitement for what lay ahead.
There was an adorable 8 week old little peanut waiting for his first photo shoot and I was thrilled to be able to visit him and take his portraits. He isn’t just any little man – he’s my cousins baby, and he’s so special to me! I stayed for two days and my family absolutely spoiled me with delicious home cooked meals, essential oils, and a some local hard ciders to try.
Originally we planned to take some newborn portraits at home in the studio and then head out to the Cherry Blossom festival in DC to take family portraits, but we got rained out of that idea. Instead, we stayed home and I got to take some lifestyle portraits in their living room. This was definitely a great alternative – I love this style of photography!
We styled his session in gray’s, browns and blues – soft colors that will help to keep the attention on him! He was wide awake the entire time, and very attentive to my camera, so his big blue eyes really draw you in.
My cousin and her husband are such attentive, loving, and amazing parents. They are absolutely smitten with their little bundle of joy.
These little baby toes above just melt my heart!
These parents have been waiting for years for their little miracle and he is already so loved. Especially by his sisters – the cats who watched me handle him very closely the entire time. They even tried to climb onto my posing beanbag! I am blessed to have such wonderful people in my life and to be able to capture such priceless memories for them. <3
