On Instagram I captioned a photo from this session saying that these are the friends I’ve probably seen more concerts with than anyone else… and it’s true. In fact, thinking back on most of the fun I’ve had in college and throughout my twenties and into my thirties has involved at least one if not both of these two. I’ve known Andrew (*cough* “Tank” *cough*) since I was 18 and a freshman in college. We met through our mutual friend Ben and became instantaneous friends. I won’t rehash all our college memories here… you know, because of professionalism and stuff… but we made a lot of good memories. Flash forward a few years and he meets Nicole who I immediately loved. She’s so sweet and funny and always down for an adventure! They got married a couple years ago and celebrated at a beautiful reception on the water on Long Island. <3
Now back to those concerts I was talking about. It’s a really great thing to have friends who are into the same music as you. We’ve seen Gogol Bordello more times than I can count, George Clinton with PFunk, bluegrass bands, moe. and Start Making Sense together among others. A few months ago on my birthday seeing a Grateful Dead tribute band they announced their pregnancy to me and I almost died of happiness. It was the perfect place to make an announcement like that to me because all I can imagine is how much fun it’ll be to bring their baby to concerts with us one day!!
Taking their maternity photos was just one more fun way for me to celebrate the two of them and their growing family and I was soooo excited about it. Months in advance we picked a night for the photo shoot that ended up being in the middle of the heatwave we experienced here in NJ a couple weeks ago. It was 99 degrees out and Nicole at 8 months pregnant was an absolute trooper! She was glowing the whole time and didn’t let the heat bother her one bit. We photographed in Bergen County at one of my favorite spots within Saddle River County Park amongst the trees and used the warm setting sun to illuminate the environment.
I’m so excited to share these highlights with you!
