Sayan Gardens Fall Family Portraits
When these two emailed me to set up a family portrait session we hit it off right away. We planned for a fall session at Sayan Gardens. This loving, adventurous, beautiful couple met me at the park and it was nothing but laughs the rest of the evening.
The first thing I noticed was their gorgeous outfits! They selected a vibrant primary color scheme that popped so well with the fall leaves! I love this rich combo for bold portraits! The boys showed up with fresh haircuts and stylish boots, and moms lip color matched her youngest’s red sweater. I knew right away their photos would be amazing, with such attention to detail. The boys warmed up to me quickly by starting with candid photos of them climbing on the big boulders throughout the park and showing off to me how far they could climb up. Smiles came easy after that.
We spent the evening walking through the gorgeous park and using a variety of their backgrounds in the portraits, ending with a game of ring-around-the-rosie. The boys were most interested in the large rocks and I invited them all to join me at Gravity Vault, my rock climbing gym, when the kids get a little older! Us adults were scoping out colorful leaves and bright sun, which there was an abundance of. I found out that they just moved into the town I teach photography in, so I’m looking forward to teaching them about the darkroom and film when they get to high school.
Just like all my other fall sessions… I always end up in a leaf fight with the kids! It’s my favorite part of fall sessions!
The setting sun was so beautiful in this spot – it made more great flare and beautiful portraits!
