Yea, seriously… On the front porch. And it was probably my favorite location of 2018!

This particular front porch belongs to these two – Nana and Pop Pop. <3

They have an amazing family that I absolutely adore; who treat me like family every time I’m with them. I’ve been photographing them for years, in fact one of my very first gigs was for this family, photographing a bridal shower. I’ve gotten to know the whole family since then and love taking their family portraits and photographing their events.

When their granddaughter told me the family was thinking about doing the session at their house I was so excited and knew it would be an awesome location. Photographing in New Jersey’s gorgeous parks is always nice, but having a location with so much personal meaning to the family is even better!

Everyone dressed in gray’s, whites, blue’s and cranberry red’s and it looked fantastic against the house and all mixed together in the large group portraits.

After their portrait session, while going through the images and making adjustments, I was flooded with memories of my own family and the times I spent on my own grandparents porch with my brothers. I am very fortunate to have grown up nearby my grandparents and spent a ton of time with them as a kid, just like this family does. They all live relatively nearby and they get together every Sunday for dinner at Nana and Pop Pop’s. I think that’s just the greatest thing ever!

I’m so excited to share these highlights from their portrait session:

We ended the session off the porch and in the dining room where they have their Sunday dinners.

Apparently, this table *never* gets uncovered so when they took the table cloth off to show me how beautiful their dining room table was we decided to use the opportunity to take a funny photo of the first time any of them had ever touched it’s surface! Pop’s face cracks me up! haha

Thanks so much for taking a peek at this blog post!
