High Point Mountain in Wantage, NJ is the highest point in the state of NJ. There is a monument at the top of the mountain which is surrounded by a state park, 2 lakes, and lots of land. From the top there is a gorgeous view of Sussex Counties farm land and forests. I grew up 20 minutes from the top of this mountain so I tend to take its beauty for granted as I’ve been there a million times. My boyfriend suggested we go up to High Point State Park for a mini hike to take in the fall colors on one of the last beautiful and warm days of this fall season, so I of course said, “yes!”.
This was an adventure we went on a few weeks ago and I’m glad we went on it! It was a mellow day walking through the woods, geeing out with our cameras and taking some landscape and nature photographs.
