Lifestyle newborn sessions are a favorite of mine! They combine a great mix of classic posed family portraits and “day in the life” documentary style photography like the image above. I semi-recently wrote a post about why I love photographing your family at your home. You should take a peek to see a little bit of my heart and why I am passionate about creating long-lasting memories that fill your senses in a deeper way. So… that’s why I love lifestyle sessions! The real-life backgrounds, the real-life props, the silly things that kids do because they’re comfortable and at home. This session was no different!
At the end of the summer I went over to photograph this growing family. I’ve photographed their announcement sessions and maternity sessions, so it was such a pleasure to meet the kids and interact with them. We were reading books and jumping around in the nursery in between quiet, snuggly moments in the rocker. Big brother was definitely showing off for the camera and we made some silly photos that ended up being my favorites!
The entire newborn session took place in the nursery which has a pink + cactus theme. The plant lover in me fell in LOVE with the decor. See how cute!
