There are so many ways you can celebrate milestones in your life, but I tend to think a portrait session to capture the memories is the best! I may be a little biased… but I stand my ground. When this family contacted me they wanted to celebrate their daughter, Ishwari, turning 16 with a custom portrait session for her. We decided to use two locations and include the family and their dog Spock in the some of the photos. Additionally we included her cello which she is extremely talented with and did a few changes of outfits to show off different facets of her personality.
Once we began the portrait session I quickly realized that Ishwari was a “natural”! She was calm in front of my camera and took great direction, creating beautiful portraits! Working together was so much fun and full of laughs, and the photos turned into an amazing album that they’ll cherish forever. I’ll never forget how sweet this family was to me, making smoothies and spending quality time together, talking about music and introducing me to new artists, buying donuts for after the session, and a refreshingly positive outlook on life.
Our first location was at their home and in their backyard, which those of you who read my blogs frequently know is my favorite location for any family portraits. The second location was at Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, NJ where we used a few different locations before the sun set on us and focused on taking photographs of only Ishwari.
I’m so excited to share some highlights from this portrait session with you!
These next photos of Ishwari and Spock are some of my FAVORITES! <3
I hope you enjoyed these sweet sixteen portraits! If you and your family are experiencing any upcoming milestones I’d love to be there to capture them for you!
