Manahawkin, NJ Vow Renewal + Anniversary Party
Ginny + Richard’s Vow Renewal was full of such romantic & sentimental details that I can’t wait to share their story with you! On the exact day of their wedding anniversary, 50 years later literally to the minute (and even on the same day of the week!) these two renewed their vows in front of their loving family and friends. How amazing is that?
They chose the new outdoor venue at The Mainland, a beautiful spot at the Manahawkin, NJ Holiday Inn. They renewed their vows outdoors and had the reception indoors in one of their event rooms. Jeanne from Bogath Weddings & Events did a phenomenal job (as always) decorating the venue and organizing the celebration. The tables were just gorgeous and everything was planned out perfectly!
Let me walk you through their day…
When you first walked into the indoor reception room you were greeted by this AMAZING table filled with photos and details from Richard + Ginny’s relationship. The key pictured above is the hotel key from their romantic honeymoon in Paris, the cup is the same one they toasted with 50 years ago, and the same one that all of their children have used for the first toast at each of their weddings. It was used again on this evening! The table was full of family photos, pictures from their wedding, their wedding album, family albums, and featured Ginny’s painted wedding portrait. There was so much to look at, each item exhibiting the legacy of their love and family.
The outdoor area where their vows were renewed was intimate and gorgeous! They sat in front of the fireplace while family and guests watched nearby. The tropical plants gave an added flare to the event.
As you entered the venue itself you saw these mirrors calligraphed with the seating chart and some of their relationship stats.
I loved this detail! Seeing their relationship broken down into years, months, days, and family members was just sooo cute! Instead of labeling the tables with numbers they chose adjectives like love, friendship, passion, magic, fun, and trust.
Each of those same adjectives was placed in the gorgeous ivory, peach and purple floral centerpieces.
The LOVE table was reserved for Ginny, Richard and their family. You’ll notice their toasting cup in the center as well!
Each table looked simple and elegant with a floral centerpiece and four candles on a sparkly champagne colored runner.
Once all guests arrived and seated themselves outside, Ginny and Richard made their grand entrance!
Their ceremony was romantic and full of laughs. I soon learned how much of a jokester Richard was and how much Ginny adores him. Their guests were laughing quite a few times during their vow renewal as they passed the microphone back and forth reliving how they met and some of the mishaps on their wedding day 50 years ago. It was a very sweet vow renewal ceremony!
After the vow renewal guests enjoyed a cocktail hour. It was wonderful hearing stories of their past while photographing all the happy guests!
As cocktail hour ended and guests started entering the reception room they took the time to look at all the wonderful details on the tables I mentioned earlier. Guests flipped through albums, commenting on all the wonderful pictures until Richard and Ginny made their grand entrance after their family members.
You can just see how excited their guests are to be celebrating their 50th Anniversary!
As soon as they entered the room the band played the song for their first dance. After a minute or so guests were invited up to the dance floor to join them.
After the first dance they had their first toast following the tradition they started 50 years ago and using their cup. Their eldest son made a wonderful toast and then passed off the mic to Ginny and Richard who had the crowd laughing again as they relived their lives and told the story of their relationship and family.
It was an absolutely wonderful evening getting to celebrate the love, life, and legacy that these two created. Happy Anniversary to Ginny & Richard! I’m wishing you many many more years of love!
